Cold yesterday, semi-hot today, about even...

Ran terrible yesterday and played bad with some tilt. Today I ran very hot then had a swing then made it back. Played a couple of MTTs where I donked off and now I've got about the same as two days ago. I switched to the 6.25 turbos and I think they benefit me more. I don't lose patience as quickly which is good for tilt. I play like twice as many per hour. Most importantly I think I am better skilled at the 25/50 blind level and above which gives me an edge. Hopefully I can grind out about 100 more 6.25s tomorrow and Saturday. Maybe get in 100 Monday-Tuesday as well so that I can take a shot at the $11.50s next Wednsday. That would put me on track to end the month with a $1,000 bankroll which would be great. Learned a lot from a Chris Ferguson article that has been helping. Gonna probably play the Ferguson $1 tourney tonight for fun and get back to the grind tomorrow.

Bankroll: $174.00 (nice and even)

Day 1: Average at best, but with some lessons

So I ended up about 11-9 today which I'll take. I also received and $20 release from my Full Tilt bonus which is nice. I've had some tilt problems today which I have contributed to my ego. I have found some tips online about how to control tilt/steaming. When I take a beat or feel tilted I now sit back, smile, breath slow and deep, and take a little extra time with my decisions for a while. I've followed it okay so far except for that last game I played. I had the guy 2 to 1 in chips and he had been playing weak/tight all game. He decided to start getting aggressive and I made some light calls and bad moves when he was telling me he had me beat through his actions. I need to listen. Stupid ego. Hopefully I won't tilt at all tomorrow. I'm out of gum which I like to chew while playing so I'm gonna try to get some before playing tomorrow. Later.

Introduction and Starting BR

So in poker they say you need to be accountable to yourself so I figured a blog would keep me honest (if I stick with it). Here it is then: my (volnation27) poker blog. I'm starting this as I try to build (or re-build) a bankroll through heads-up SNG's (GreenPlastic style) and then on to 6-max cash games and other stuff. I'm starting with around $150 which means I'm going to begin playing the $5.25. I'll do a double post today and try to update daily after this. I thought about doing my blog on CardRunners, but I'll wait till I'm on to 6-max cash to do that if at all. Anyway, I've been running pretty good so far today at the $5.25s. I'm 4-2 for the day so far and will try to get in 12 or so more today. Got a little unlucky in the last one I played, but I think I played it right:

Full Tilt Poker, $5 + $0.25 NL Hold'em Sit n' Go, 15/30 Blinds, 2 Players
http://www.legopoker.com/hh

BB: 1,230
Hero (SB): 1,770

Pre-Flop: (45) Kc 6d dealt to Hero (SB)
Hero raises to 90, BB calls 60

Flop: (180) 6s 6h 2d (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets 120, BB calls 120

Turn: (420) Qs (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: (420) 3s (2 Players)
BB bets 300, Hero raises to 1,560 and is All-In, BB calls 720 and is All-In

Results: 2,460 Pot
BB showed 2h 6c (a full house, Sixes full of Twos) and WON 2,460 (+1,230 NET)
Hero showed Kc 6d (three of a kind, Sixes) and LOST (-1,230 NET)

Unfortunate, but whatever. I outplayed him most of the match I think.
